Using Information to Drive Performance Improvements
A Performance-Based Management Program refers to a formalized framework for managing a school district, not just a message in some brochure or on a web-site. Performance-based management is achieved through an ongoing process of: establishing performance objectives; collecting, analyzing, reviewing, and reporting performance data; and, using data to drive performance improvements. Implementing a sound PerformanceBased Management Program is not an easy or a short task. Without strong leadership and a firm commitment, the program will not succeed. Everyone involved – especially those in a leadership position - needs to be fully committed to the program. Their degree of commitment to the program will determine its degree of success.
